Hi ZNewsHoover, Hope you had a great weekend. I managed to reply to all emails received until Friday afternoon, about 400 of them! If I haven't replied to your email yet, expect to hear back from me within 24 hours. In case you missed last week's update email, you can find it here. As promised, here is a quick update on the Tweepi-Twitter situation. - Tweepi Sigma does not cause the dreaded Twitter account locks issue, requiring phone verification. Tweepi Legacy still triggers them for many users.
- Tweepi Sigma is still pending Twitter review, in turn most users are unable to use the "Follow" feature within the new app.
- Due to #1 and #2, we have temporarily replaced the "Follow" functionality with "Follow on Twitter" buttons. It took us a few days to code as we had to figure out how to record those actions so you can still view them under the "History" / "Last action via Tweepi" column and filters. Good news is that it's ready and deployed now. More information below.
- Finally, it seems Twitter's phone verification system was failing to call some users in the US and UK. We updated our Knowledge Base with all the information we have about unlocking your Twitter account.
Temporary "Follow Intent" Actions and How They Work As the "Follow" functionality cannot be used for the moment, we are offering two alternative ways of following users with ease. - "Follow on Twitter" opens users' profiles directly on Twitter from Tweepi. Please make sure you're logged into the correct @user account on Twitter.com when using this feature. We are thinking about a way to alert you, otherwise.
- Coming soon: "Add to Twitter List" facilitates curating the users you're interested in following into a private Twitter list. This should make following the @users you select on Tweepi easy on smart phones and tablets, as well as Twitter's web interface.
The great news is that Tweepi will keep track of those actions every 15 minutes and records them as "Followed on date" only if the actions are actually carried out on Twitter.com. So, you will be able to use your Tweepi account's "Last action via Tweepi" history as usual. | |
